- I was born and raised in the quiet little town of Rockwell, NC and have a deep and abiding love of the South. My first real introduction to photography was through my 7th grade science teacher. He taught us everything he could about science through the medium of photography - light, chemistry, optics, anything he could really, and I got hooked. After graduation, I studied abroad at Oxford University and then at Arizona State University under the tutelage of some of the greats including Mark Klett and the wonderful Bill Jay.
In 1997, my husband and I moved back to North Carolina where I took up my career as a photographer and printer. In this work I have been exposed to some of the greatest photographers working today. It has been a fantastic education.
